Client Context

People’s Electric Cooperative (PEC) is a member-owned, non-profit electric cooperative headquartered in Ada, Oklahoma. In service for more than 80 years, PEC serves communities across 11 south-central Oklahoma counties.

Project Objective

Hyped Visuals was engaged to produce a brand film for PEC — one built to humanize the cooperative for its members and the broader community by showing the people who do the work, rather than functioning as a sales piece or a recruiting video.

Creative Approach

PEC brought the subject matter and access — its linemen, and the stories they had to tell. Hyped shaped that material into a single human narrative, built around first-person voices from the field and themes of sacrifice, safety, and service to community, developed collaboratively between the two teams.

Production Approach

The finished film centers the voices and fieldwork of PEC linemen. It opens on PEC’s automated outage-reporting system before shifting into first-person voiceover from the crews themselves — men describing the sacrifice, danger, and dedication the job requires, including one account of how he was brought into the trade and trained on the job.

The footage is real fieldwork: a PEC service truck on a rural gravel road at dusk, hands working inside an open meter box, a lineman climbing a utility tower against open sky.

As one PEC lineman puts it near the close of the film, after everything, “we just want to come home.”

Deliverables

  • Brand film (3:36 runtime)
  • Drone footage, produced for PEC’s website
